PS 48 and the Park
The P.S. 48 school community has had a long term relationship with Drake Park. The school and park both have the same namesake, 19th century poet Joseph Rodman Drake, including a momentous advocacy campaign in the early 1960s to save the park from destruction.
On April 12, 1962, P.S. 48 held a Dedication to Drake Park. They had a ceremony at both the school as well as Drake Park. Below you will find photographs from that special day.
